North Wales Games 5th to 12th July 2015
In Abergele we are now busy with the final stages of planning “The North Wales Games”
The Games receive their inspiration from the London 2012 Olympic Games and is a partnership between Conlan School and a local Abergele School, Ysgol Emrys Ap Iwan. The event involves 75 students from schools across Europe taking part in sporting events while also attending English lessons on mixed international groups within Emrys Ap Iwan School. It begins with an introduction morning and presentation from all schools participating and involves a procession through the town in designated T shirts and caps provided by Conlan School. There are teams this year from Italy, France, Portugal, Germany and of course Wales.
The students have the opportunity to visit Manchester and Liverpool and dine out in the evening together and to het to learn about how an English school works. The event culminates with a presentation afternoon with trophies awarded for achievement, effort and fair play. Emrys have been victorious for the last 2 years but who will win this year?? Demand for this event is always high, so if you are thinking of joining us for 2016 please find more information on and ... get involved!
