Pet Exam

One of our upcoming groups will be doing a three-week course preparing for the Cambridge PET exam so this is a good opportunity to explain a little about the exam.
It stands for Preliminary English Test and is taken by students who are at the B1 level and certifies this level if passed. You can also achieve a B2 level in this test if you achieve a Distinction. It has three sections: Reading and Writing, Listening, and Speaking and is designed to use language that can be heard in everyday situations, so preparing for this test enables students to learn very useful language that can be used in a variety of situations. Like many tests, it has a rigid format that means students can easily learn what to expect in the test and prepare techniques for handling the different question types. Despite being mainly multiple-choice, it is also a tricky test so you have to read and listen carefully or you might be fooled! Having this qualification is a great addition to a student’s CV so we could recommend considering it for your class.

After seeing the wonderful panorama from the Promenade, the group had time to warm up and dry off at the local Starbucks in Llandudno
