A medieval town, Conwy is surrounded by a beautifully intact wall (that winds round the hills just like a smaller Chinese Great Wall) with the famous castle built by Edward I, today known by UNESCO as a heritage site. Conwy has other historical jewels: the Suspension Bridge; the Plaws Mawr, the most interesting historical mansion; Aberconwy House, the oldest medieval merchant dwelling remaining in the town (XIV century); the Smallest House in the UK; the Conwy Mussel Centre, a little museum on the dock dedicated to the mussel catch.
